Open Water Training Begins…

Buckland Lake Reserve – 1 June 2019

A perfect day out… (albeit a little crispy for the skin)

To kick off the season after an aborted Brighton trip (blame the weather), we headed down to Buckland to begin open water training and get some dives in.

Who’s that handsome guy (I mean the reflection)?

Congratulations to our Ocean Diver trainee for his first two dives in open water with a maximum depth of 8.9m.

“So guys, remember, you cannot breathe without that big metal thing.”

If you are interested in learning to dive, use the Contact Us section on the website to send us a message.

Downe Scout Outreach Event – July 2018

With the help of West Wickham branch, and resources from the SE regional team, we hosted an outreach event at the Downe Scout centre. Part of a larger event, we offered free diving experiences to scouts and scout leaders. We had over 30 people give it a go in the pool, many of whom took to the water like fish. The instructors felt encircled at times by the scouts as they ran rings around us, braving the cold water in simple swimming gear. The weather was perfect for the day, with plenty of sun to dry everyone off quickly!
